This week a question came in about entry level or free photo editing software programs. Anyone has attended one of my seminars knows that I’ve always been a fan of picnik.com but Google decided to sunset that product last month. For those not ready for the standard bearers like Photoshop Elements & Lightroom, there are still a few free programs for digital processing that are in fact great…

Use photo editing programs to make the most of your best shots. Osprey portrait by Gordon Campbell www.swfloutdoorphotography.com.
When thinking about editing your digital photos remember that the better the composition and exposure the easier it is to finish or optimize your best shots. Don’t be tempted to think a poor photo can be magically made a master piece but rather focus on the idea of making good shots really shine. In all cases be sure to save your original file once you finish editing.
So bookmark this article & experiment with the products detailed within. Let me know if you develop a real favorite and if so why.
On a separate note and for those with an eye for the night sky, Canon has introduced a new camera especially designed for what they describe as astrophotography with the new EOS 60Da. Take a look if that’s your bag!
Let me know if you have a question about digital processing and always be sure to send in a request for an article that would help with your photography- Gordon.
