… were two of the things that came out of a meeting in downtown Naples on Friday. I’d made plans to meet with local artist and entrepreneur Kalon Baquero (more in the future) who suggested we connect at her client’s place. Luckily I had my camera and a sweet tooth.

Interesting images often appear when you least expect it.
Her client’s business turned out to be Freddo Gelateria just off 41 and in sight of 5th Ave in Naples. After a warm greeting from the owners Marco & Tecla I grabbed a most delicious portion of their special chocolate hazelnut gelato and waited comfortably outside. That’s when I noticed the afternoon lighting casting wind blown palm shadows dancing across the building exterior.
Always attracted to form and light regardless of the subject I took a series of shots hoping to have something to talk about here and maybe something that Freddo could use for business. I saved three shots and enjoyed the surprise opportunity that arose.
The moral of the story? New friends, great local businesses and opportunities for interesting photography can pop up anywhere so be alert and ready when they do! Later this week, “Birds of Florida” and more.
